With considerable pleasure and deep gratitude, we are placing the first edition of our treatise on “Business Environment” to benefit commerce and management students. This book is written on the basis of the latest syllabus of several South Indian Universities. We hope the book will be helpful to the students and the faculties of commerce, management, economics, etc.
Business environment refers to all internal and external forces which affect business functioning. Environmental factors are generally external and beyond individual industrial enterprises’ control and management. The business environment includes socio-economic, technological, supplier, competitor, and government factors.
Many universities and autonomous institutions have prescribed the Business Environment as a compulsory paper for graduate and master’s degrees in commerce, management, and allied areas.
The chapter introduces and examines the business environment model and presents appraisal methods to explore the model, allowing students to view the business environment internally and externally. It will help the students to understand how business organizations operate in political, social and cultural, economic, financial, demographic, technological, legal, global, and natural environments.
The contents are formatted with 10 chapters, 41 illustrative diagrams, 99 short answers, 66 essay answer questions, etc. We welcome all suggestions and any errors and omissions that could improve the content in the future edition.
